Huachuca Seminar

From 17-21 June 1975, as part of the nation's bicentennial celebration, Fort Huachuca sponsored a seminar with the theme "Views on the Military History of the Indian-Spanish-American Southwest: 1598-1886." It was largely the work of Dr. Bruno J. Rolak, one-time museum director at Huachuca and later the historian for the Army's Communication Command. The fact that such a renowned lineup of speakers were assembled is indicative of the kind of respect that Dr. Rolak commanded in the community of southwestern scholarship. Their papers were published in 1976 in a limited local printing. Because their monographs remain today among the best work on the subject, they are made available here for the enjoyment and enlightenment of those interested in southwestern military history.
